What the test found
Calcure 3.4 is installed in a Python virtual environment at ~/venv, CLI arguments (--help, --version, --task, --event) all work correctly, the interactive curses TUI launches and renders the calendar/journal interface, config file and data files are auto-created at ~/.config/calcure/, and the only required fix was adding parents=True to the config folder mkdir() call.
No formal test suite exists. The project has only a minimal curses test script (test.py). Verified end-to-end behavior: installed via pip in a venv, --help and --version CLI work, --task writes to tasks.csv, --event writes to events.csv, interactive TUI launched and rendered the October 2026 calendar with journal panel and Columbus Day holiday (observed via script -qc with terminal emulation). No third-party credentials required — all functionality is standalone.
Argusic installed calcure in 3 minutes and launched it; verification reached Verified with mock services. 1 of 1 recorded error was worked through (see the timeline below).
