The webcams in the catalogue Argusic tracks, in one table you can filter by what you will use it for: daily standups and pairing calls from a home desk, streaming, or a meeting room. Filter by resolution, frame rate, autofocus, microphone and price, then read the buying guide below the table for what each choice changes.
Nothing here was tested hands-on. Specs are what the seller states, and the Use for rules are Argusic's, printed beside the filter.
Right now: 331 webcams, each with a price read in the store's window, 324 in stock. Latest price read 10/19/2026 11:07 PDT.
Top picks
Three popular picks from the table below, one per brand, refreshed with the prices; commissions never change the order.
Listing 331 webcams priced from $5. Colours of one product share a row.
Use forThe rules
Remote work & dev calls: 1080p or sharper, with a built-in microphone, both stated by the seller. A webcam under 1080p does not qualify; one that does not state its resolution or a microphone is not counted.
Streaming: 1080p or sharper at 60 frames per second or more, both stated. A webcam whose highest stated rate is 30 fps, or under 1080p, does not qualify; one that does not state its frame rate is not counted.
Meeting room: a field of view of 100 degrees or wider, stated, to fit a group around a table. A narrower stated view does not qualify; a webcam that does not state its field of view is not counted.
A webcam whose listing does not state what a rule needs is not counted as meeting it. Ticking two uses shows webcams that meet both.

Recommended: $40 to $85 first, popular first, one brand at a time; rows priced at another store take every third place while any are left. This is Argusic's editorial default, not a quality ranking. Commissions never change the order.
On a standup, a code review or a pairing session the camera has one job: show a face that is in focus and moves smoothly, on a connection that is often shared with a screen share. Zoom's system requirements list video up to 1080p HD, and for a 1080p one-to-one call they recommend 3.8 Mbps up and 3.0 Mbps down, against 1.2 Mbps each way at 720p HD. A screen share alone needs far less, 50 to 75 kbps.
232 webcams of the 331 in this table meet the Remote work rule printed beside the filter, from $5.49 to $5,481.10 at the last price check. 91 webcams do not state enough to judge and are never counted as meeting it.
Resolution: 1080p covers a call
Because Zoom's own table stops at 1080p HD, a 2K or 4K camera does not make a Zoom call sharper by itself; the extra pixels help when the software crops or zooms the frame, and when you record or stream.
Stated resolutions in this table: 4K, 116; 2K (1440p), 38; 1080p, 130; 720p, 5; 480p, 3. 39 webcams do not state one.
Autofocus and field of view
Autofocus keeps your face sharp when you lean in to read code or hold something up to the camera. Field of view is how wide the picture is: a narrow view frames one person at a desk, a wide one shows the room behind you, so for a home office a narrower view hides more of it. 145 webcams in this table state autofocus. 107 webcams state a field of view; 19 of them 100 degrees or wider.
Microphone and privacy cover
A headset microphone sits closer to your mouth than one built into a camera on the monitor. A privacy cover closes the lens when you are not on a call. 253 webcams in this table state a microphone and 154 a privacy cover; a listing that does not say so is not counted.
Certified for Microsoft Teams
Microsoft certifies webcams as well as headsets for Teams. Per Microsoft's list of devices certified for Teams, certified video devices meet requirements for noise, color, image detail, jitter, latency, frame rate and field of view, and work without extra setup. This table does not carry webcam certification yet, so check that list if your company requires it.
Webcams for streaming
Streaming and recording are where resolution and frame rate pay off. YouTube's live encoder settings recommend 12 to 17 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps (12 with AV1 or H.265, 17 with H.264) and 35 to 50 Mbps for 4K at 60 fps, so a 4K stream needs an upload connection to match. A camera at 60 fps shows motion more smoothly than one at 30 fps.
63 webcams of the 331 in this table meet the Streaming rule printed beside the filter, from $18.04 to $9,457.48 at the last price check. 164 webcams do not state enough to judge and are never counted as meeting it.
68 webcams in this table state 60 fps or more. 165 webcams do not state a frame rate. 116 webcams state 4K, and 34 state HDR.
Webcams for meeting rooms
A camera for a meeting room has to fit several people in the frame and hear them from across a table, so a wide field of view and a microphone matter more than for a desk. Microsoft tests the shared cameras it certifies for Teams against defined room sizes and noise levels, per Microsoft's list of devices certified for Teams.
19 webcams of the 331 in this table meet the Meeting room rule printed beside the filter, from $5.99 to $5,081.99 at the last price check. 224 webcams do not state enough to judge and are never counted as meeting it.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Is a 1080p webcam enough for Zoom and Teams calls?
For Zoom, yes: its system requirements list video up to 1080p HD, with 3.8 Mbps up and 3.0 Mbps down recommended for a 1080p one-to-one call. 284 webcams in this table state 1080p or more. Source: Zoom's system requirements
Do I need a 4K webcam?
Only if you stream, record, or want software to crop the frame without losing detail. YouTube recommends 35 to 50 Mbps for a 4K stream at 60 fps, depending on the codec. 116 webcams here state 4K. Source: YouTube's live encoder settings
Should a webcam be 30 or 60 fps?
30 fps is fine for a talking head on a call; 60 fps shows movement more smoothly on a stream or a recording. 68 webcams in this table state 60 fps or more.
Do I need autofocus on a webcam?
It helps when you move closer to the screen or show something to the camera; a fixed-focus camera is sharp only at the distance it was set for. 145 webcams here state autofocus.
What does Certified for Microsoft Teams mean for a webcam?
Microsoft tests certified video devices for noise, color, image detail, jitter, latency, frame rate and field of view, and they work with Teams without extra setup. The list is on Microsoft's site. Source: Microsoft's list of devices certified for Teams
Does a webcam need a privacy cover?
It is the simplest way to know the camera sees nothing between calls. 154 webcams in this table state one.
How this page is built
Prices come from the stores Argusic tracks. An Amazon price counts when it was read in the last 24 hours, another store's price when it was read in the last 48 hours, because those feeds arrive once a day. Each price shows the store and the time it was read. Webcams priced under $5 are not listed. 331 webcams are listed now.
Specs are what each seller states on its listing; Argusic has not tested these webcams hands-on. The Use for rules are Argusic's and printed beside the filter, and a webcam whose listing does not state what a rule needs is never counted as meeting it.
The default order, Recommended, puts a middle price band first, then the bands on either side, then the rest; within each band popular models come first and brands take turns. The Top picks block shows one model per brand. The order is an editorial default, not a quality ranking, and commissions never change the order or any number.
