What the test found
on this Ubuntu container, MusicBox installs (Node 22.23.3, Rust 1.99.1, venv pip), builds renderer+main TS and lint/typecheck cleanly, launches on the Xvfb display with the full UI and preload bridge alive, scans a real music folder and returns correct track metadata, plays in UI state and fetches live network lyrics successfully, and edits FLAC metadata end-to-end; only WASAPI native audio and the frozen metadata_editor binary remain unbuildable on Linux and audible output is unverifiable without an audio device.
Standard install path completed with userland Node 22 + Rust 1.99 + venv (PEP 668). App launched on Xvfb :99 and stayed up; renderer rendered real UI; iTunes-style library scan of /tmp/fix/music (mp3+flac) returned both tracks with real metadata; UI play set player state and fired live api.lrc.cx lyrics request that succeeded; metadata editor wrote FLAC tags confirmed by ffprobe; fixtures still decode via ffmpeg. Only Windows-only native audio engine and metadata_editor freeze binary could not be built on Linux (app degrades gracefully); audible output unverifiable headless.
