What the test found
The Rust toolchain plus locally-extracted dev libs now build the game, controller/sound client, server build and GPUI launcher; the launcher CLI (0.2.0) and GUI run on the virtual display with a software Vulkan ICD, and the client and core crates' test suites pass (1100+132+18+3+4+2+1 client, 520 core, 398 Python, 0 failures), with only the vanilla-data prerequisite (a real Minecraft 26.3 install and JDK for horizon-prepare) left before playing a world.
Rust missing: installed rustup stable 1.99.1. System deps for ALSA (libasound2-dev) and udev (libudev-dev) absent with no root; extracted the Ubuntu .deb files into a local devroot and pointed PKG_CONFIG_PATH/CFLAGS/LIBRARY_PATH at it, so the audio/controller client builds and runs. The GPUI launcher needed dev symlinks/libs for xcb, xkbcommon, xkbcommon-x11 and X11 auth (libXau/libXdmcp), added to the same devroot; release binary built. No Vulkan driver on the host: extracted Mesa's mesa-vulkan-drivers (libvulkan_lvp.so) plus its lvp_icd.json into the devroot; with VK_ICD_FILENAMES the launcher GUI stays up on Xvfb and the client test suite passes (the one client test that needs a GPU fails on the system's GL backend and passes on Vulkan-llvmpipe). Starting a game world is gated by the real vanilla 26.3 install (horizon-prepare input), which the instructions allowed to report; the client builds, its help works, its binaries start, and the launcher CLI/GUI are verified for real. Verified: python suite 398 OK, client Rust suite 0 failed, core crates 520 passed 0 failed, launcher --version prints horizon-launcher 0.2.0, live release list fetched, GUI up 10s. Fixed: dev toolchains and devroot libs — no repo files changed; fixes consisted of installing Rust/Java/deps into the container, not code changes.
Argusic installed horizon in 77 minutes and launched it; verification reached Verified running for real.
