The watermarks-remover service installs cleanly, its HTTP server launches and answers all endpoints (health, capabilities, openapi, inspect, detect, clean, batch variants), its CLI scripts (clean_text, inspect_text, clean_image, inspect_image) run correctly, and the full test suite passes 1412/1412 with 31 skipped (for missing optional backends: MarkLLM, SynthID, CtrlRegen, rewrite LLM).

Created .venv and installed dev-deps (pytest, ruff, openapi-spec-validator, pip-audit). System packages exiftool/c2patool/qpdf/ghostscript not installed (no root), but the service degrades gracefully; ffmpeg is available. Layer B text rewrite requires an LLM backend (WATERMARKS_REWRITE_*), so text clean via the HTTP endpoint 400s unless a strategy-config is provided; this matches documented behavior. Image cleaning works without any backend.
