What the test found
npm ci installs cleanly; npm test now passes 2 suites/4 tests; npm run build and build-vercel both exit 0; vite preview serves the built demo with HTTP 200 on /, /files/alice.epub, and the app JS bundle.
This is a React component library: its real behavior lives in a browser (epub.js renders epubs to an iframe), and no headless browser is installed here, so end-to-end rendering could not be exercised. Tests use a schema-correct epubjs mock (navigation toc, rendition location events) to drive the real ReactReader/EpubView components in jsdom; the demo app was also built and served over HTTP and its packaged epub byte-decoded (zip OK, sha256 matches repo file). No third-party credentials are involved anywhere.
Argusic installed react-reader in 10.8 minutes and launched it; verification reached Verified with mock services. 5 of 5 recorded errors were worked through (see the timeline below).
