The binary builds, all unit tests pass, and the server starts with embedded NATS, binds to port 9292, elects itself metadata leader, and logs normal operation.

The project's embedded NATS feature eliminates the need for a standalone NATS server. The server started with --embedded-nats, bound to ports 4222 and 9292, became metadata leader, and all unit tests passed across 4 packages. Full integration tests (creating streams, publishing/subscribing) require a running NATS/Liftbridge cluster and client test harness but the server binary was verified launching and logging success. No NATS binary was needed because the embedded server is provided by the nats-server/v2 Go library dependency.
