What the test found

After installing Go 1.26.8, the server builds, reports v2.16.0-dev, serves /healthz with HTTP 200 while JetStream is enabled, completes real pub/sub and JetStream round trips, and exits 0 on SIGTERM; the targeted regression suites passed 37 tests with zero failures.

Go 1.26.8 was installed without root. Four focused repository fixes are present but uncommitted. The targeted verification passed 336 package tests, 21 test-package integrations, 33 server-package tests, and a final 37-test regression run with zero failures. The unmodified full ./... suite is not green because its large server package exceeds the aggregate timeout and some parallel cluster tests are flaky; every observed failure passed when rerun alone. No third-party credentials were required.
