Pyosmium 4.3.1 is built and installed in a virtualenv at /tmp/dev-venv; imports successfully, processes real OSM XML and PBF files correctly, all 401 tests pass, and the pyosmium-get-changes CLI tool reports version 4.3.1.

Built pyosmium 4.3.1 from source in a venv. Python and C dev headers were missing from the container; downloaded Ubuntu dev packages via apt-get download and extracted to /tmp/dev-pkgs/. Patched sysconfig via sitecustomize to point to extracted headers. Cloned libosmium 2.23.1 and protozero 1.8.1 into contrib/. All 401 tests pass. CLI tools (pyosmium-get-changes, pyosmium-up-to-date) report version 4.3.1. Real OSM file read/write/convert/geometry operations verified.
